On our latest trip to Whistler we made an effort to eat at some new restaurants. We were staying at the Hilton and during a walk I came across a restaurant I hadn’t really noticed before. In the lobby of the Crystal Lodge is the Wild Wood Pacific Bistro, a restaurant that offers “Pacific flavors” in a beautiful casual setting.
We found their menu offered something for everyone. I started my dinner with the beet and goat cheese salad which was probably the best salad I had on our trip. I actually considered going back just for the salad. My main course was their seafood linguine which was equally delicious. My husband had the oysters to start followed by their baby back ribs which he thought was delicious. The children’s menu had lovely things and many of the usual offerings-our son had been in the car all day and settled on their Mac & Cheese. To finish my British husband could not turn down their Sticky Toffee Pudding and he said it was one of the best ones he has had outside of the UK.
We found prices to be more moderate when it comes to Whistler. The Spaghetti Factory is up the hall from Wild Wood, and even though the prices are lower this setting was quieter we prefer the quality of food. Starters ranged from $7-20, main courses were anywhere from $19-30. There is also a full bar and lots of wines to chose from.
We found the waitstaff very helpful. The kitchen was wonderful about working with my food allergies and making sure everything was safe and still delicious. There was no wait when we got there at 5p but they do take dinner reservations if you would like to secure a table. During the holidays this is recommended. There are no reservations taken for breakfast or lunch. We tend to stick with the breakfast at our own hotel since it comes with our room, but the one at Wild Wood looks really amazing.
On our future trips we will be sure to go back and we highly recommend it to you!
