Back in June, Trekaroo sent us on a weekend away to a special place called Kah-Nee-Ta. It is special to me, because this was one place my family used to go when I was a child on vacation. I hadn’t been there since I was in the 4th grade, so going back and taking my own little family was an experience I had been wanting to do.
We got to experience lots of things while we were there, and I got to see some new things as well. It was the Pi-ume-sha Treaty days the weekend we drove to Central Oregon. We were there for the parade and Pow Wow. My husband and son got to see their first rodeo (it was an Indian Rodeo, so it was a little different than a standard Western Rodeo, but amazing!). We also were able to visit the Museum at Warm Springs which is a fantastic tribute to the 3 tribes that call the reservation home. Really beautiful museum!
Our son’s favorite thing? The water park at the resort. It was really fun and you swim in mineral pools (no chlorine! Yeah!).
The weekend was amazing. To read more about it and see more photos, read my full Trekaroo blog post here.
