During our trip to Lake Shasta a few weeks ago, I had to run to the store to pick up a few things that I (ehmmm) forgot. I blame the massive garage re-org just before the trip, but the fact is, I didn’t go through things as thoroughly as I should have. It was serendipitous though, because I ran smack into this must buy:
After enduring 11 mosquito bites to the face while cooking dinner (I won’t even get into all of the other ones), this helped ease the pain and made me feel a little better about my Quasimodo appearance.
Happy Camper Wines make a Chardonnay, a Merlot, and a Cabernet Savignon. I really enjoyed the Chardonnay (but had to stick with just that…I get headaches with red wine, sadly). I thought it was reasonably priced ($8.99 at the shop I was at), and the screw top is perfect for camping. If you have some left over, like I did, put the top back on, throw it back in the cooler and there are no leaks or spills.
Let’s face it, happy mama makes for happy camping, and it paired really well with my Apple Gorgonzola Proscuitto Pizza!
